Privacy Policy
Effective as of: August 27, 2026
Wool Blend Coat ("we", "us", "our") operates https://woolblendcoat.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit or buy from our store, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using this website you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identity and contact information - your name, email address, phone number, billing address and shipping address, provided when you place an order, subscribe to our list or contact support.
- Order and transaction information - the items, colour and size you selected, order value, order number, delivery status and returns history.
- Payment information - card and payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment providers. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; we receive only confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card brand and last four digits.
- Device and usage information - IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page and clicks, collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies.
- Communications - the content of emails, contact form submissions and support messages you send us.
2. How We Collect It
We collect information in three ways: (a) directly from you, when you fill in a form, place an order or email us; (b) automatically, through cookies, pixels, tags and server logs as you browse; and (c) from third parties, such as our payment processor confirming a transaction or a shipping carrier confirming delivery.
3. Why We Use Your Information
- To process, fulfil, ship and track your order, and to handle returns, exchanges and refunds.
- To communicate with you about your order, including confirmations, shipping notifications and support replies.
- To send marketing email or SMS messages about products, offers and restocks, where you have opted in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- To detect, investigate and prevent fraudulent transactions, abuse and other unlawful activity.
- To measure and improve our website, product range and customer service through analytics.
- To measure and target advertising on third-party platforms, where permitted and where you have consented.
- To comply with our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (order fulfilment), consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement and security) and legal obligation (tax and record keeping).
4. Third Parties We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to operate our business, and only for that purpose:
- E-commerce and checkout platforms - to host our storefront, process your order and manage inventory.
- Payment processors - to authorise and settle your payment and to screen for fraud.
- Shipping and fulfilment partners - including USPS, UPS and our warehouse partners, to pick, pack, ship and track your parcel.
- Analytics providers - such as Google Analytics, to understand aggregate site usage and performance.
- Advertising platforms - such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Snapchat and Google Ads, which may receive event data (for example a page view or a purchase) to measure and target advertising.
- Email and SMS marketing providers - to deliver the messages you have subscribed to.
- Legal and regulatory recipients - where we are required by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:
- Strictly necessary cookies - required for the site to function, for example to remember the contents of your cart and to keep checkout secure. These cannot be switched off.
- Performance and analytics cookies - help us count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the site.
- Functional cookies - remember choices you make, such as the colour or size you were viewing.
- Advertising and targeting cookies and pixels - set by us or our advertising partners to understand your interests and show you relevant ads on other sites.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our cookie banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works. Where we are legally required to respond to a browser "Do Not Track" signal, we do.
6. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep order and transaction records for seven years to meet tax and accounting requirements. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterwards so that we can honour your opt-out. Analytics and advertising data is typically retained for up to 26 months. Support correspondence is kept for up to three years. We delete or anonymise information once it is no longer needed for these purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights (California residents, under the CCPA and CPRA).
To exercise any of these rights, email support@woolblendcoat.com. We will respond within 30 days, or within 45 days for CCPA requests. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link at the foot of any message, or reply STOP to any marketing SMS.
8. Data Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS and TLS), access controls and vetted processors to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.
9. Children's Privacy
Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets a higher age, in line with COPPA and equivalent rules. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@woolblendcoat.com and we will delete it.
10. Third-Party Links
Our site and emails may link to third-party websites we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Please read their own policies before providing personal information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. When we do, we will revise the "Effective as of" date at the top of this page and post the updated policy here. If the changes are material, we will give additional notice, for example by email or a prominent notice on the site. Please review this page periodically.
12. Contact Us
For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact us at support@woolblendcoat.com. We reply to all enquiries within 24-48 hours on business days. If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
